I am in love. It’s slow as hell, with a clunky interface, bad typography; and yet I can’t get enough of this service. I just started using it about a week ago, and it is now part of my regular rotation of sites. Absolutely fantastic.
On Android phones shipped in the middle of the US through the middle of last year.
- 7 of the 18 Android phones never ran a current version of the OS.
- 12 of 18 only ran a current version of the OS for a matter of weeks or less.
- 10 of 18 were at least two major versions behind well within their two year contract period.
- 11 of 18 stopped getting any support updates less than a year after release.
- 13 of 18 stopped getting any support updates before they even stopped selling the device or very shortly thereafter.
- 15 of 18 don’t run Gingerbread, which shipped in December 2010.
- In a few weeks, when Ice Cream Sandwich comes out, every device on here will be another major version behind.
- At least 16 of 18 will almost certainly never get Ice Cream Sandwich.
One of the best things I’ve read post-Jobs. What I find most interesting is the fact that this level of thoughtfulness and eloquence comes from a fifteen year old. I am sixteen, and still I rarely find myself able to articulate emotion in the way that this maestro does. Bravo, sir. Bravo.
Well, the iPhone 4S is officially here. It isn’t the iPhone 5 that so many people were hoping for, but it does include enough improvements to make me seriously want to switch away from my terrible Droid 2. Thank you, Apple, for reminding me of all my purchasing mistakes. I love you.
My favorite RSS feed reader, Feedly, is now up to version 6.0. This brings a whole slew of new features, and much appreciated tweaks and improvements to the interface. Try it out if you haven’t already, I’m sure you won’t regret it.
